Rohit Sharma made a big announcement about his retirement, said this during the Sydney Test.
Team India has played the Sydney Test without Rohit Sharma. He has been a complete flop on this tour so far, due to which he is sitting out of this match. For the last few days, there have been reports that the management no longer wants him on the Test team and this series is the last Test series of his career. In such a situation, the biggest question is whether Rohit has been dropped from the Sydney Test or he himself is sitting out of this match. Rohit Sharma himself has now answered this question.
Rohit Sharma made a big revelation
Rohit Sharma, while talking to Star Sports during lunch on the second day of the Sydney Test, said, 'I myself am sitting out of the Sydney Test. My bat is not working right now. I told the selectors and coach that I am not getting runs from my bat, so I decided to step down. I am a father of two children, I am sensible, I am mature, I know what to do when. The out of form batsmen of the team should not get a chance to play such an important match, so I have decided to sit out.'
Rohit Sharma further said, 'Runs are not coming right now, but there is no guarantee that they will not come even after 5 months. I will work hard. But this decision is not about retirement. People sitting outside with laptop, pen and paper do not decide when retirement will come and what decisions I will have to take.' Apart from this, Rohit told that he was constantly trying to score runs but it was not happening, so after coming to Sydney, he told the management that he will not play the last match.
The bat did not work in the Australia series
Rohit Sharma was seen struggling to score runs in this Test series. In the 3 matches of the series, he played innings of 3, 6, 10, 2 and 9 runs. That is, the Indian captain scored a total of 31 runs in 5 innings at an average of 6.20. Earlier, he was a complete flop in the series played against Bangladesh and New Zealand. He has been able to score only one half-century in the last 8 Test matches. Due to which Rohit decided to sit out in this important match, so that Team India can level the series.
