The Ranji Trophy witnessed an amazing performance by 2 players. Amazing because what they did together was no less than a real havoc on the field. It is called lightning. We are talking about the match played between Meghalaya and Jammu Kashmir. In this match, Meghalaya batted first. The condition of that team in the first innings has made the match for Jammu Kashmir. Actually, the Meghalaya team collapsed cheaply and the ones who collapsed were not all the bowlers of Jammu Kashmir but only 2 bowlers.

Only 2 bowlers were enough for the whole team.

Jammu and Kashmir used 5 bowlers in the first innings against Meghalaya. But, only 2 of them made an impact. The two bowlers who destroyed Meghalaya's batting were Aqib Nabi and Abid Mushtaq. Together, these two made it difficult for the Meghalaya batsmen to stay on the wicket.

Meghalaya all out for 73 runs in the first innings

Due to the havoc created by Aqib Nabi and Abid Mushtaq, the condition of Meghalaya became such that it was all out for just 73 runs. Those two bowlers of Jammu and Kashmir were responsible for this condition of Meghalaya. In the first innings, both Aqib Nabi and Abid Mushtaq took 5-5 wickets each. That means only those two together took all the 10 wickets of Meghalaya.

One took 5 wickets for the 5th time and the other took 5 wickets for the 8th time.

Medium pacer Aqib Nabi dismissed 5 Meghalaya batsmen for just 14 runs in 9 overs in the first innings. This is the 5th time he has taken 5 wickets in first class cricket. Spinner Abid Mushtaq took 5 wickets for 19 runs in 15.3 overs. This is his 8th 5 plus wicket in first class cricket.

Jammu and Kashmir got an edge

After Meghalaya was all out for 73 runs, Jammu and Kashmir has made an excellent start to its first innings. It has gained a lead over Meghalaya. Now it remains to be seen how much the Jammu and Kashmir team increases the lead it has gained. Because, the more runs it scores, the more will be its chances of winning by an innings margin.
