PCB threatens ICC, will take revenge of Champions Trophy from India in these two big tournaments
The Pakistan Cricket Board is going to host the Champions Trophy next year. However the dispute between the BCCI and the PCB over the organization of this tournament is not coming to an end. Now the ICC has organized a virtual meeting to end the differences between the two boards. It is expected that during this time the ICC will put pressure on Pakistan to conduct the tournament on a hybrid model. Meanwhile, the PCB has now given a new threat, in which it has said that if this happens, then it will also take revenge for the Champions Trophy in the coming time and will put a similar demand in front of India.
Pakistan will take revenge in these tournaments.
After the Champions Trophy, two big tournaments are to be held in India. The Women's ODI World Cup is to be played in India next year. After this, the Men's T20 World Cup will be hosted in India and Sri Lanka in 2026. In view of this, the PCB can also adopt a stance like the BCCI. The Telegraph has reported quoting sources in the Pakistan Cricket Board that if the Champions Trophy is forced to be organized in a hybrid model, it will also demand it for the next two big tournaments.
If sources are to be believed, the PCB has threatened that it will not send its team to India for the Women's ODI World Cup from now on. For this too, the ICC will have to adopt the hybrid model. Apart from this, it will play all the matches in the T20 World Cup 2026 but not in India but in Sri Lanka.
If its demand for a hybrid model is not met in both these tournaments, it will withdraw its name. Let us tell you that PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi had recently said in his press conference in strong words that if the Indian team does not go to Pakistan, then the Pakistani team will also not come to India.
What did BCCI say?
BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla has also reacted on the matter of Champions Trophy. He said that 'Consideration is also being done on holding ICC Champions Trophy in a hybrid model. Apart from this, there are other options as well. The safety of Indian players is our priority, decisions will be taken on that basis. Talks are going on right now, we will tell you when everything is finalized.'
