In view of this, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) can now take a big step. BCCI can now make it mandatory to play three to four matches in Ranji Trophy to participate in the Indian Premier League.

According to reports, the Indian board is planning to take steps in this regard due to Ishan Kishan not playing first-class cricket and focusing only on IPL. If BCCI implements this rule then many star cricketers will come under its ambit. It also includes star all-rounder Krunal Pandya and Rajasthan fast bowler Deepak Chahar.

Chennai Super Kings fast bowler Deepak Chahar has also not participated in Ranji Trophy matches for Rajasthan. A senior BCCI official informed in this regard that the board may make it mandatory for IPL to play three-four Ranji Trophy matches.
