The IPL 2024 retention and trade window ended at 4 pm on Sunday and ten franchises have revealed their retained and released players on Star Sports Network.

The upcoming IPL auction 2024 is going to be very exciting as it is taking place a month after the completion of the World Cup 2023. This means players who have performed commendably in the World Cup can trigger a bidding war among the ten IPL teams. Players like Rachin Ravindra, Travis Head, and Mitchell Starc are expected to get huge bids in the auction.

However, as per the rumours floating on social media, it is being suggested that teams may bet big on this Indian player instead of any foreign player.

India's star bowler Shardul Thakur used to play for Kolkata Knight Riders but now the franchise owned by Shahrukh Khan has released Shardul Thakur from the team. Therefore, a big buck can be expected on Thakur in the IPL auction to be held at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on December 19.

Apart from bowling, Thakur also has amazing batting skills and he has many times led the team to important victories with his all-round performance. It is possible that this time Bangalore and Punjab have their eyes on Shardul and he may get the title of the most expensive player in IPL history.

Hardik Pandya, who was expected to make a surprise trade in the 17th edition of the IPL, was initially retained by Gujarat Titans. But according to the report of Cricbuzz, now he has been transferred to Mumbai Indians. The cricket website also confirmed that the deal has been officially signed by both the franchises.
