Mumbai cricket in the hands of the youngest president, replaced Amol Kale who lost his life after the India-Pakistan match

The post of president of Mumbai Cricket Association which was vacant after the death of Amol Kale has been filled. Ajinkya Naik will now be the new president of MCA. He defeated Sanjay Naik by 107 votes in the elections of the association. The difference in votes between the two was 221-114.

Mumbai Cricket has got its new president. 37-year-old Ajinkya Naik will now run Mumbai Cricket. Ajinkya Naik has been elected the youngest president in the history of Mumbai Cricket Association by winning by 107 votes. He defeated Sanjay Naik by a margin of 221-114 in the MCA elections. Ajinkya Naik has the support of former BCCI and ICC president and veteran politician Sharad Pawar. As the President of Mumbai Cricket Association, Ajinkya Naik will replace Amol Kale, who died suddenly after watching the India-Pakistan match during the T20 World Cup 2024.
What did the youngest president Ajinkya Naik say?
The process of MCA elections started after the sudden death of Amol Kale in New York. Ajinkya Naik described his victory as a result of the achievements of Amol Kale. He said that he will now work to carry forward the legacy of Mumbai cricket. He will continue his efforts to improve Mumbai cricket further and make it better.
He cast his vote in MCA elections
A total of 335 votes were cast in the MCA elections on the afternoon of 23 July. Many big stars of Mumbai cricket were seen among the voters who cast their votes, including Ajit Agarkar, Zaheer Khan, Balwinder Singh Sindhu, Paras Mahambre and Sanjay Manjrekar. Apart from these cricketers, many big clubs like Mumbai's Gymkhana and Maidan were also included in the list of voters.
Election officer confirmed the result
MCA election officer JS Sahariya announced the result after the counting of votes was over. He said that Sanjay Naik got 114 votes while Ajinkya Naik got 221 votes. After this decision, no candidate asked for re-counting, after which Ajinkya Naik was elected president.
