There are only a few months left before the start of the world's biggest cricket league, the Indian Premier League (IPL), but its craze which started in 2008 continues across the world. The 16th anniversary of the first IPL auction is coming on 20th February. To celebrate the occasion, the all-time best team has been selected, captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

MS Dhoni chosen captain:

On the eve of the 16th anniversary, Star Sports teamed up with several former cricket legends and 70 journalists to select the greatest IPL team of all time. The panel included cricket legends like Wasim Akram, Matthew Hayden, Tom Moody and Dale Steyn. Combining their expertise, the responsibility of leading this illustrious team was handed over to the beloved MS Dhoni chosen by the fans.

Virat Kohli did not get a place in the team but Rohit did not get a place:

Along with Indian batsman Virat Kohli, the selected team includes Suresh Raina, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal and Jasprit Bumrah. Surprisingly, captain Rohit Sharma, who led Mumbai Indians to five IPL titles, did not find a place in the team despite being acknowledged as an excellent leader by all the stalwarts. The team respects Rohit Sharma's captaincy but did not include him in the playing eleven.
