Mohammed Shami will receive the Arjuna Award for his outstanding performance in cricket!

Indian star fast bowler Mohammed Shami is certain to receive the Arjuna Award for his excellent performance in cricket. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has today announced the National Sports Awards 2023.

He will receive the award along with other awardees from the President of India at a specially organized ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 9, 2024. Shami is one of the 26 Indian athletes to receive the Arjuna Award for his exceptional performance in the year 2023. Arjuna Award is given for good performance over a period of the last four years and for showing qualities of leadership, sportsmanship and a sense of discipline.

The 33-year-old had a stellar performance in the ODI World Cup 2023, where India finished second after losing to Australia in the final. He was the leading wicket-taker in the World Cup with 24 wickets in seven matches.
