Manu Bhaker got emotional over Khel Ratna controversy.

Recently, Manu's father had alleged on the Khel Ratna controversy that Manu had applied but there was no response from the committee. At the same time, officials of the Sports Ministry say that Manu did not apply for the Khel Ratna Award. In such a situation, now Manu Bhaker has shared a story on her Instagram account and put forth her point. Manu Bhaker wrote, 'Regarding the ongoing issue regarding my nomination for the most prestigious Khel Ratna Award - I would like to state that my role as an athlete is to play and perform for my country. Awards and recognition keep me motivated, but this is not my goal. I believe that there may have been a mistake on my part while filing the nomination, which is being rectified. Despite the award, I will remain motivated to win more medals for my country. Everyone is requested to please not speculate on this matter.

Earlier, while talking to ABP New, Manu said about not being in the list, 'Khel Ratna is a very big award. It will be an honour for me to receive it. I am a little sad but I have to work on my craft. Sport is my goal. As a citizen and as an athlete, it is my duty to work as hard as I can and win medals. I had hoped that I would get the award this year but there is no final decision yet. But whatever happens, I am very positive about it.'
