LLC Auction 2024: Who dominated Legends League Cricket? Know which player was sold for how much rupees?
The 5th season of Legends League Cricket 2024 will start from 20th September. This league of retired players will be played in Srinagar, Jodhpur, and Surat, in which a total of 6 teams will participate. The auction for this tournament is going on in Delhi. Many players have been bid, in which Isuru Udana has proved to be the most expensive retired cricketer to date. Urbanizers Hyderabad has included him in the team by paying Rs 61.9 lakh. Jaskaran Malhotra of America is the cheapest player so far this season. Urbanizers Hyderabad has bought him for Rs 10.4 lakh, while some big players like Brett Lee remained unsold, and no team bought him.
Recently retired Shikhar Dhawan and Dinesh Karthik have also joined the 5th season of LLC. Dinesh Karthik has hit the jackpot as soon as he joined the league. The Southern Superstars team has made him their captain. However, it is not known how much money he has received for playing. Dhawan has not yet been bid for.
Manipal Tigers won the last season of LLC under the captaincy of Harbhajan Singh. Now bidding is going on for the new season. Many players have been sold in the auction, in which Sri Lanka's Isuru Udana has been seen winning so far. Urbanisers Hyderabad bid 61.9 lakhs for him.
West Indies' Chadwick Walton is the second most expensive player so far. Walton has also been bought by Hyderabad. 60.3 lakhs were paid for this. Manipal Tigers paid 56.95 lakhs to include Australia's Dan Christian in the team. Ross Taylor and Dhawal Kulkarni are the 5th most expensive players so far this season. Both have received 50 lakh rupees each. Taylor was bought by Konark Surya and Kulkarni was bought by India Capitals.
In the 5th season of LLC, on one hand, many players were selected for the lottery. On the other hand, there were some players for whom bids were made but they got very little money. America's Jaskaran Malhotra was at the top, for whom Urbanizers Hyderabad bid Rs 10.50 lakh. Bermuda's Kamau Leverock was bought by Gujarat for Rs 11 lakh. Nepal's Paras Khadka was given Rs 12.58 lakh by Gujarat. South Africa's Cybrand Abraham is the fourth cheapest player of the league so far, for whom Gujarat gave Rs 15 lakh. Sri Lanka's Dilshan Munaweera and New Zealand's George Worker have received Rs 15.5 lakh.
Many players who had a great international career remained unsold in LLC. The first and the biggest among them is Australia's fast bowler Brett Lee, who is counted among the legendary players. Apart from him, Aaron Finch, who won the T20 World Cup under his captaincy for Australia, also did not find any buyer. New Zealand's Martin Guptill could not be sold. India's 'Swing King' Praveen Kumar and RP Singh are also on the list of those who were not sold. Apart from these 5 players, 56 other players remained unsold.
