In such a situation, KL Rahul made a big statement on his batting strategy in the press conference after the day's play ended.
KL Rahul told how he scored runs in Australia.
KL Rahul is the highest run scorer for India in this inning so far. He faced 139 balls in this innings and scored 84 runs. His innings included 8 fours. He held one end of the batting with a lot of patience, due to which the Indian team was able to avoid the threat of follow-on. Rahul said in the press conference after the fourth day's play, 'We have no problem playing on fast and bouncy pitches, but in the first 20-30 overs you have to respect the bowlers, leave the ball and play as tight as possible and then really try to take advantage of the old ball, this is my batting plan in Test cricket.'
KL Rahul further said, 'It is very important to leave the ball in these conditions against good fast bowlers. Not only for me, it is for everyone that it is very important to leave the good length and outside balls. This is something you have to do while traveling abroad and playing in Australia.'
Bumrah-Akash Deep was praised a lot
Akash Deep and Jasprit Bumrah's batting also played an important role in averting the threat of follow-on. Both the players have so far added an unbeaten 39 runs in 54 balls for the 10th wicket. Praising both these players, KL Rahul said, 'When Akash Deep and Jasprit Bumrah were batting, I was ready to bat once again, but then they batted very well. Akash Deep and Jasprit Bumrah made a big difference in the end. They played really well. It was really good to see that they built a partnership and averted the follow-on for us.'
