What did BCCI say on Bumrah being out?
After Jasprit Bumrah's exclusion from the Champions Trophy, BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia has made a big statement. He said that even if Bumrah is not there, the team combination will not be affected. Talking to IANS, Saikia said, 'The team we have selected for the Champions Trophy is the best team. We have such a big bench strength and I don't think this (Bumrah's exclusion from the Champions Trophy) will have any effect on the team combination.'
Harshit Rana got a chance in place of Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah suffered from back spasms during the Australia tour. He was scanned in Australia. Later, his injury was scanned in India as well. On February 11, BCCI's final decision on Bumrah for the Champions Trophy came. Bumrah could not fully recover from his injury, after which the Indian Cricket Board decided to drop him. In place of Bumrah, young fast bowler Harshit Rana has been included in the Indian squad for the Champions Trophy.
Jaiswal was dropped, Varun was included
There was another important change in Team India at the last moment. Young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal was first given a place in the squad. However, BCCI suddenly showed him the way out of the squad and included 'mystery spinner' Varun Chakraborty.
