Lok Sabha elections are just a few days away in the country, there are rumours of many players from the sports world participating recently, former Team India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is also in the news about his possible entry into politics. In this matter, Yuvraj himself has issued a statement declaring that he is not currently involved in electoral politics.

In recent times, many media reports have claimed that Yuvraj Singh can be given a BJP ticket for the Lok Sabha elections from Gurdaspur, Punjab. It was reported that some senior party officials had met the cricket legend to discuss the possibility. However, Yuvraj Singh took to Twitter to dispel these rumours and clarified that all such speculations and notions were wrong.

In a post on his official 'Yuvraj Singh He insisted that contrary to media reports, he was not contesting from Gurdaspur. Yuvraj emphasized that his passion is to help people and provide assistance through his 'YouWeCan' foundation. He urged people to continue working to the best of their abilities to bring about change in society.

It is noteworthy that Yuvraj Singh's clarification comes after another former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir made his debut in electoral politics during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Gambhir contested the election as a BJP candidate from the East Delhi constituency and won. Although there were speculations that Yuvraj might follow the same path, it seems he is not considering an active role in mainstream politics as of now. The Gurdaspur seat where there were rumours about Yuvraj, is currently held by Bollywood star and BJP MP Sunny Deol.
