Old records have been broken in the mini-auction for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. For the first time, two players were sold for more than Rs 20 crore in the auction held at Coca-Cola Stadium in Dubai. In this, the biggest bid in IPL history was made in the name of Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc.

He was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 24.75 crore. Australia's world-winning team captain Pat Cummins was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 20.50 crore. New Zealand's Darryl Mitchell became the third most expensive player in the IPL 2024 auction. Which was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14 crore.

India's Harshal Patel was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 11.75 crore. The fifth most expensive cricketer of this auction is West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph, who was bought by RCB for Rs 11.50 crore. Only one Indian has got a place among the five most expensive players.
