IPL 2025: Rishabh Pant broke his silence on his separation from Delhi Capitals, said- it was about moneyβ¦
There are only a few days left for the IPL 2025 auction. Before that, Rishabh Pant has broken his silence. And, while doing so, he has tried to explain the reason for his separation from Delhi Capitals. Rishabh Pant did this by taking the help of social media. Pant actually did not write this directly on social media. Rather, he expressed his views after seeing Sunil Gavaskar commenting on that matter in a program. In simple words, Pant has tried to correct Gavaskar.
Pant broke his silence on not being retained
Sunil Gavaskar was commenting on Star Sports on the issue of why Delhi Capitals did not retain Rishabh Pant. In the program, Gavaskar said that not retaining Pant could be an issue related to match fees. After listening to Gavaskar, Pant told on his X handle that at least this cannot be a matter related to money.

My retention has nothing to do with money- Pant
Rishabh Pant replied to the video of the program and wrote β One thing I can say with confidence is that my retention has nothing to do with money.
However, in the video, Sunil Gavaskar has also expressed the hope that Delhi Capitals may try to get him back. This is because he is not only a wicketkeeper batsman but is also captaincy material.
All eyes will be on Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant's base price in IPL 2025 retention is Rs 2 crore. Many franchises are also looking for a captain in this auction. In such a situation, Rishabh Pant may be in demand. Teams like Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings will also be eyeing him. In such a situation, it is going to be a difficult task for Delhi Capitals to re-induct him after releasing him.
