IPL-14: Chennai reached the top of the points table by defeating Mumbai
Opener Rituraj Gaikwad scored an unbeaten 88 as Chennai Super Kings beat Mumbai Indians by 20 runs in the first match of the second leg of the IPL on Sunday.
Playing first, CSK, led by MS Dhoni, posted a challenging score of 156 for six in 20 overs. In reply, Mumbai could manage only 136 runs for eight wickets in the allotted overs.
With this win, CSK with 12 points overtook Delhi Capitals to reach first place in the IPL-14 points table. In this match, Gaikwad scored an unbeaten 88 off just 58 balls. He hit nine fours and four sixes in this innings. Ravindra Jadeja scored 26 runs off 33 balls and Dwayne Bravo scored 23 runs off 8 balls.
Trent Boult, Adam Milne, and Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets each for Mumbai. In batting, Saurabh Tiwary scored an unbeaten 50 off 40 balls with the help of five fours.
