Ashwin withdrew from the ongoing third Test against England on Friday. BCCI has also given an update on this. 

If media reports are to be believed, BCCI said that Ashwin has withdrawn from the Rajkot Test due to medical emergency, but the board did not tell what the medical emergency was. BCCI said in the press release regarding Ashwin's sudden withdrawal of name, Ravichandran Ashwin has withdrawn from the Test team with immediate effect due to medical emergency.

BCCI further wrote in its press release, BCCI is with the champion cricketer. The health of players and their loved ones is a matter of utmost importance. The board requests to respect the privacy of Ashwin and his family as they are going through a challenging time.
