T20 World Champion Team India has maintained its supremacy and has started another series with a bang. The result of the match between India and South Africa, clashing for the first time after the World Cup final, was the same as on 29 June. In the first T20 match of the series played in Durban, Team India defeated South Africa by a huge margin of 61 runs and took a 1-0 lead. The star of Team India's victory was opener Sanju Samson (107), who scored a record century. At the same time, the spin duo of Varun Chakraborty (3/25) and Ravi Bishnoi (3/28) together dismissed half the team.

In the first match of the four match series on Friday 8th November in Durban, the Indian team maintained its complete dominance from batting to bowling. Although the team's start was not looking good due to losing the toss and losing Abhishek Sharma's wicket early while batting first, but Sanju Samson took charge and took the South African bowlers to task by launching a one-sided attack. Samson showed more confidence in hitting sixes than fours and hit the ball across the boundary arbitrarily.

Sanju, who came as an opener, scored the second century of his career in just 47 balls. The special thing is that his first century came in the last T20 and thus became the first Indian batsman to score a century in 2 consecutive T20 matches. Sanju hit 10 sixes and 7 fours in his innings of 107 runs in just 50 balls. During this, he also got good support from captain Suryakumar Yadav (21) and Tilak Verma (33). No other batsman could make a significant contribution. Team India scored 202 runs after losing 8 wickets. Pacer Gerald Coetzee took 3 wickets for South Africa.

South Africa had a bad start and captain Aiden Markram was out after hitting 2 consecutive fours in the first over. Soon the team's top-3 batsmen were back in the pavilion with just 44 runs in the powerplay. Ryan Rickelton (21) did have a fast start but spinner Varun Chakraborty got him out as his first victim. After this, all eyes were on Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller, who were playing their first international match after the World Cup final.

Klaasen and Miller also scored boundaries quickly and were seen becoming an obstacle in India's way but then in the 12th over, the match was completely in Team India's control. Varun sealed South Africa's defeat by first taking the wickets of Klaasen (25) and then Miller (18) in this over. After this, Ravi Bishnoi took 2 wickets in the same over. Now it was just left to see how far South Africa could reach. Marco Jansen and Gerald .
