IND vs NZ: Shreyas Iyer scored a century in the debut test
Shreyas Iyer scored a century on the second day of the first test match being played against New Zealand in Kanpur and recorded many achievements in his name. He has become the 16th Indian player to score a century in Test cricket debut for India.
Shreyas Iyer returned to the pavilion after scoring 105 runs on the second day of the match. In his innings, he hit 13 fours and 2 sixes in 171 balls. With this, he is the third Indian player to score a century in Test debut against the Kiwi team.
He has scored a century for India at the age of 26 years 355 days. With this, he became the third cricketer to score a century while debuting at the oldest age. Shreyas Iyer became the second Indian cricketer after Gundappa Viswanath to score a century at the Greenpark Stadium in Kanpur. India scored 326 for eight in their second innings of the Kanpur Test at the time of writing.
