IND vs NZ: Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul together registered their names in Jaipur!
Under the new captain Rohit Sharma, India made a winning start in the three-match T20I series against New Zealand at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. India defeated the Kiwi team by five wickets in the first match. The opening pair of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul registered a big achievement in the match.
Both of them registered a record in their name by sharing 50 runs in the match. With this, the pair of Rohit and Rahul has become the pair with the highest half-century partnership for India in T20 Internationals. Both the cricketers together put up a 12th half-century partnership.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma had earlier made 11 half-century partnerships with veteran left-handed batsman Shikhar Dhawan in this format of cricket. Ireland's Kevin O'Brien and Paul Stirling hold the record for most half-century partnerships in international T20 cricket.
Both these Irish cricketers have made half-century partnerships 13 times. Now Rohit and Rahul will have a chance to equal this record in the second T20 match against New Zealand in Ranchi on Friday.
