IND vs ENG: Ravichandran Ashwin can leave behind these two giants in the Test series
The first match of the five-match Test series between India and England has started from today. Ravichandran Ashwin can set another milestone in his career in this match that started in Hyderabad. Now if he succeeds in taking ten wickets in this match, he will become the second bowler from India to take five hundred wickets in Test cricket.
Till now only Anil Kumble has achieved this feat. 37 year old Ravichandran Ashwin has so far taken 490 wickets in 95 Test matches. During the series, he will have a chance to leave behind many legendary bowlers.
He will have a chance to overtake West Indies fast bowler Courtney Walsh (519) and Australia's Nathan Lyon (512), who are seventh and eighth respectively in this list, in terms of taking wickets in Test cricket. To leave behind these two giants, Ashwin will have to take thirty wickets in the series.
