Indian players participating in Test cricket may get a significant increase in their salaries in the future. It is reported that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering increasing the salary of players associated with red-ball cricket. This news comes after India captured the Test series against England. This is being seen as a step by BCCI to promote Test cricket.

According to a report in The Indian Express, in recent times, many players have been seen distancing themselves from red-ball cricket and preferring participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Considering this trend, BCCI is considering increasing the fees for Test matches.

Regarding this development, Captain Rohit Sharma has made it clear that Team India will now focus on those players who wish to play Test matches and are ready to make the necessary sacrifices. Rohit Sharma considers Test cricket to be the most challenging format and believes that playing Test cricket requires hunger for the game and readiness to make sacrifices.

Rohit Sharma said, 'We will give a chance only to those who are hungry to play Test matches. The team management will not give any attention to those players who do not wish to play Test matches and have nothing to prove themselves on this platform. Playing test cricket is very difficult. To be successful in this format you must have the hunger to play.

Rohit Sharma's message for specific players:

Through this statement, captain Rohit Sharma has tried to give a message to players like Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer. Ishan Kishan was reportedly required to play in the Ranji Trophy for selection in the Test series against England, but he did not fulfill this condition. On the other hand, after being dropped from the team, Shreyas Iyer decided not to play Ranji Trophy. It may now be a challenging task for these players to make a comeback in Test cricket.

In the ongoing Test series against England, young players like Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel, and Akashdeep got a chance to debut under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. These players performed commendably and contributed significantly to giving India a 3-1 lead in the series. Rohit Sharma emphasized that the team has lived up to the expectations and he is satisfied with the performance.

Finally, Rohit Sharma's leadership signals a shift towards promoting players with genuine interest in Test cricket, highlighting the importance of dedication and passion for success in the challenging format. BCCI's idea to revise the pay structure for Test matches is aimed at encouraging players to actively participate in red-ball cricket.
