Team India is on cloud nine. And why not, after getting a resounding victory in the first T20 against England? What Team India has done to England in Kolkata is not just called defeating but completely destroying the opponent. The Indian team wrote the script of its victory 43 balls in advance, which is its biggest victory over England in terms of balls remaining in a T20I match. This victory is the result of the excellent planning of its bowlers and the explosive innings of the batsmen. While registering this stormy victory, India has also broken Australia's world record.

India broke the record in the run chase.

After winning the toss in the match, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav decided to bat first according to the conditions. His decision also paid off. Living up to the trust of their captain, the Indian bowlers restricted England to 132 runs in 20 overs. England's only successful batsman was its captain Jos Buttler, who scored 68 runs in 44 balls. However, India got a target of 133 runs, which it not only chased but also created a new world record by doing so.

The record that was in Australia's name for 7 years now belongs to India.

India chased the target of 133 runs given by England in 12.5 overs, which is the fastest chase of a 130-plus score by any team in T20I against England. Earlier this world record was in the name of Australia, which chased a score of 130 plus against England in 14.5 overs in a T20 played in Melbourne 7 years ago i.e. in 2018.

India's fastest 130+ run chase against any team

This is the fastest 130-plus chase by Team India against any team in T20 International. India had earlier scored 130 plus runs fastest against Namibia in the year 2021. Then it had achieved this feat in 15.2 overs.

By winning the first T20I in Kolkata, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the 5-match T20 series. Now the second T20 match between the two teams will be played in Chennai on January 25.
