According to a report in Daily Mail, Saqib was informed on Thursday morning that his visa has been approved.
Due to the delay in visa, he could not participate in England's fast bowling camp. He was to leave for UAE on Monday. Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Brydon Carse and Mark Wood are part of this camp under the supervision of veteran bowler James Anderson. Shakib was also supposed to be a part of it but he could not travel to UAE as his passport was deposited in the Indian Embassy.
The England team may reach India on Friday to play eight matches against India. 27-year-old Saqib Mahmood will also be with the team. Saqib was born in the United Kingdom. But he is of Pakistani origin. His parents belong to Pakistan. Saqib was a part of England Lions in 2019, then he had to come to India for a tour but his visa was not approved. After this, he had to face the same problem in the year 2024 as well. Lancashire Cricket Club traveled to Bangalore in 2024 for pre-season practice. Saqib was also supposed to come with the team but he was not given a visa even then.
