India secured an unassailable 4-1 lead with a decisive win in the fifth and final Test of the series against England. Led by Rohit Sharma, the dominant home team dealt a blow to the visitors by winning by innings and 64 runs.

The series finale was completed in just three days, with India displaying their superiority over the Ben Stokes-led England team. England's batting performance in both innings was lacklustre, allowing India to bat only once and emerge victorious.

Centuries from Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill along with a spin-bowling masterclass from R Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav ensured India crushed England's hopes of a consolation win in Dharamsala.

R Ashwin took 5 wickets in his 100th Test match, while Jasprit Bumrah, replacing the injured Rohit Sharma, demolished England's lower order. Due to this, India bowled out England for 197 runs in the last innings. England failed to last 60 overs in both innings of the 5th Test, resulting in the series ending on the third day for the first time.

Despite England's struggles, Joe Root once again emerged as the lone warrior, showcasing the England batsmen's ability to score runs even with a traditional approach.
