Team India defeated England badly in the very first match of the T20 series. Batting first, England scored only 132 runs which proved to be very low for Team India. India won this match in just 12.5 overs. Abhishek Sharma batted in a rapid style and gave Team India a 1-0 lead in the T20 series. Abhishek Sharma scored 79 runs in just 34 balls, in which 8 sixes and 5 fours came from his bat. Abhishek Sharma scored a half-century in just 20 balls which is the fastest fifty in his T20 International career in India.
Arshdeep-Chakravarty also shone
Before Abhishek Sharma, the bowlers showed their strength. Especially Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakraborty bowled brilliantly. Arshdeep Singh took 2 wickets for just 17 runs in 4 overs. Varun Chakraborty took 3 wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs. Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel also bowled well and took 2 wickets each. Only Jos Buttler performed well for England, he scored 68 runs. However, this performance did not have any special benefit as England could reach only 132 runs. Team India won this match 43 balls earlier, which is its biggest win against England in terms of balls.

Abhishek Sharma's havoc
Abhishek Sharma did not show any mercy to England bowlers on the Pata pitch of Kolkata. This player started the innings with a six and a four off Jofra Archer's ball and then this player gave a tough lesson to Mark Wood, Adil Rashid, Gus Atkinson. Apart from Abhishek, Sanju Samson also batted fast. He gave a fast start to the team by hitting 22 runs in a single over. However, he was out after scoring only 26 runs. After him Tilak Verma scored an unbeaten 19 runs.
Team India also made a world record by defeating England. Team India has now become the fastest team to achieve a target of more than 130 runs against England. Earlier this record was in the name of Australia who defeated England in 14.3 overs in 2018, Team India did it in just 12.5 overs.
