IND vs AUS: Will this 19-year-old boy spit fire against India? Pat Cummins gave a tremendous 'guru mantra'
The Boxing Day Test will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) from December 26. The player who is being discussed the most before the start of this fourth Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy has not played a single international match yet. Australia's Sam Constas is sure to play in the Melbourne Test. This 19-year-old player will make his international cricket debut against Team India in Melbourne. Before this, Sam was given a tremendous guru mantra by his captain Pat Cummins. Cummins has told Sam that he does not have to think much and enjoy the game.
Cummins' 'guru mantra' to Constas
Before the Melbourne Test, Cummins has given tremendous and important advice to 19-year-old Sam. During this, Cummins remembered his Test debut. He said about Sam, who is on the verge of playing his first international match, 'I recently told Sam that I remember when I was 18 years old, I was thinking that there was very little pressure on me because I was young. I was thinking then that if I could not perform well in that match, it would not have been my fault. It would have been the fault of the selectors who selected me for the team. You are very young and you are getting a chance to debut in a match like the Boxing Day Test. You have to enjoy this moment without thinking much.'
Play like you did when you were a child.
Cummins further said, 'During my debut, I spent some time wondering how I got the chance so soon. I just remember that I was very excited and this week is going to be the same for Sam. With a level of innocence, you just want to go out and play, like you used to play in your childhood. Challenge the game and have fun and don't think about anything more than that.'
Sam Constus scored a century in the practice match against India
19-year-old Sam Constas has got a chance in place of Nathan McSweeney. McSweeney also made his debut in this series but he flopped by scoring just 72 runs in 6 innings. Now Constas will be seen playing as an opener in his place. Recently, while playing for Australia PM XI, he scored a century against India in a practice match.
