The second encounter between India and Australia in the semi-finals of an ICC tournament was in the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup held in 2015. In the second semi-final of that World Cup played in Sydney, Australia batted first and scored 328 runs for 7 wickets in 50 overs. In reply, Team India was all out for 233 runs. India lost that match by 95 runs and was eliminated from the tournament.

Now the third clash between the two teams is going to take place in the Champions Trophy 2025. This time the match is also on the soil of UAE. This match will be played in Dubai, when Team India has played and won all its matches of the tournament. Although Australia has not played any match of Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai so far.
