During the Gaba Test, Jaspreet Bumrah broke a big record of former Indian cricket legend Kapil Dev. Jaspreet has now become the Indian bowler to take the most five-wicket hauls in South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia (SENA) countries. He did this feat eight times. While Kapil Dev took 5 wickets in an innings 7 times in SENA countries, Zaheer Khan and B.S. Chandrasekhar took 5 wickets in an innings 6 times each. Let us tell you that Bumrah made this record in just 6 years of Test career. His Test debut was in the year 2018.
Now Bumrah is targeting the records of Muralitharan and Akram
While Bumrah has become the Indian bowler to take the most five-wicket hauls in seven countries, he has also become third in the list of Asian bowlers in this regard. Former Pakistani great bowler Wasim Akram (11) is at number one in the list of Asian bowlers to take the most five-wicket hauls in seven countries.
