Even before the start of this series, Team India suffered a big setback. Star batsman Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the three-match ODI series against Australia due to his back injury. He was injured during the Test series. Due to this injury, he could not bat in the fourth test against Australia.

As per reports, Shreyas Iyer is currently under the care of the BCCI medical team at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, where he will be assessed. Kolkata Knight Riders are also worried due to Shreyas Iyer's injury. He will lead KKR in IPL 2023.
