IND vs AUS: 12 wickets, 15 remaining... counting continues! Jasprit Bumrah has a big plan in Australia
Bumrah is 15 steps away from 200 Test wickets!
Before the Adelaide Test, Bumrah had 181 wickets to his name. Now, after Bumrah took 4 wickets for 61 runs in the first innings of the Pink Ball Test being played in Adelaide, his total number of wickets in Tests has become 185. That means he is 15 steps away from the magical figure of 200 Test wickets. The good thing is that Bumrah has ample opportunity to take these 15 wickets in Australia.
7 innings left to take 15 wickets
Bumrah has to bowl in 7 more innings in the Test series being played between India and Australia. With the form Bumrah is in and the way he has been bowling in the first 3 innings of the Test series, the way he has taken 12 wickets in total including 5 wickets once, it is clear that it is not a big deal for him to take 15 wickets in the next 7 innings.
He can become the sixth pacer to take 200 Test wickets
If Bumrah keeps taking wickets, he will not only remain a threat for Australia but will also become the sixth Indian pacer to take 200 wickets in Tests. Kapil Dev is the highest pacer to take 434 Test wickets from India. After him, Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma have taken 311-311 wickets. Mohammed Shami is the last bowler to join the 200 Test wicket club. But, with 15 more wickets, Bumrah will also join that list.
