The knockout matches of World Cup 2023 are starting. The first semi-final is between India and New Zealand. Whereas, the second semi-final is between Australia and South Africa. 2 Semi-finals of the World Cup The first semi-final of the World Cup 2023 will be held on November 15 at the Wankhede ground in Mumbai. The second semi-final will be held on November 16 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

There are reserve days for both semi-final matches in Mumbai and Kolkata. But, have you thought about what will happen if it rains? What if the semi-finals are washed out in the rain? What if both the semi-final matches are completely washed out due to rain? If this happens then how will the finalists be decided? Which two teams will play in the final? Who will be the two finalists? So let us tell you that if the semi-final match is completely washed out due to rain, the team reaching the final will be selected on the basis of their ranking in the points table.
 Decisions based on ranking means, in that case, the top two teams i.e. India and South Africa will be seen playing the final. There will be a title clash between them.  If this happens then it will be the first time that the South African team will be seen playing the final.
