ICC ODI World Cup: Virat Kohli broke this world record of Chris Gayle

The 37th match of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 was named after former Indian captain Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli registered big achievements in his name by scoring a century in the match played against South Africa. In Kolkata, Virat Kohli scored unbeaten 101 runs with the help of 10 fours in 121 balls.

Due to this inning, he was given the Man of Match award. With this he has registered a world record in his name. Now he has become the cricketer to win most Man of the Match awards in ICC tournaments.

In this matter, he has broken the record of West Indies cricket legend Chris Gayle. Virat Kohli received this award for the 12th time in the ICC tournament on Sunday. Earlier, West Indies' legendary batsman Gayle had won this award 11 times. Whereas Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Shane Watson and Mahela Jayawardene have received this award 10 times each.
