ICC ODI World Cup: Shubman Gill made a world record, left this legend behind
Indian opener Shubman Gill on Sunday created a world record in One Day International cricket with his short innings of 26 runs in the World Cup match against New Zealand. During his innings he completed the fastest two thousand runs in ODI cricket. In this case, he broke the world record of Hashim Amla of South Africa.
India's young batsman Shubmag Gill completed his two thousand runs in just 38 innings. Whereas Hashim Amla of South Africa had achieved this feat in 40 innings. Twenty-four year old Shubhman Gill needed 14 runs to achieve this feat.
He completed the fastest two thousand runs by hitting a four off Trent Boult in the seventh over of the Indian innings. In the match played against New Zealand, Shubman Gill contributed 26 runs in 31 balls. His innings was ended by Lockie Ferguson. Gill has now completed 2012 ODI careers. He has scored six centuries in ODIs so far. India defeated New Zealand by four wickets.
