ICC ODI World Cup: Mohammed Shami will break Shoaib Akhtar's record by taking only five wickets

In the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, the Indian team will play its last league match against the Netherlands on Sunday. In this match, Team India's fast bowler Mohammed Shami will have a chance to leave behind former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar.

Mohammed Shami will have a chance to leave Akhtar behind in terms of wickets at the international level. Shami has taken 440 wickets in his name in international cricket. He is only five wickets away from surpassing Pakistan's legendary Rawalpindi Express Shoaib Akhtar. Akhtar took 444 wickets during his illustrious international career. 

Shami has performed brilliantly in the current ODI World Cup. He has taken 16 wickets in just four matches at an impressive average of 7 and a strike rate of 9.5. During this period his economy has also been only 4.3. He is the highest wicket-taker for India in the World Cup.
