ICC ODI World Cup: India created history by defeating Sri Lanka, achieving this big achievement

After the brilliant half-centuries of Shubman Gill (92), Virat Kohli (88), and Shreyas Iyer (82), the Indian team secured its place in the World Cup 2023 based on the killer bowling of Mohammed Shami (five wickets) and Mohammed Siraj (three wickets). Defeated Sri Lanka by 302 runs in the seventh match.

This is the second-biggest win of any team in terms of runs in the 48-year history of the ODI World Cup. Earlier in this World Cup, Australia had defeated the Netherlands by 309 runs. This is India's biggest victory in the World Cup. Playing first, the Indian team scored 357 runs at the loss of seven wickets.

In reply, the Sri Lankan team could score only 55 runs in this match. In this match, Virat Kohli also completed 1000 runs in this year's ODI. He left behind Sachin Tendulkar (seven times) in terms of completing 1000 runs most times in a year. Virat achieved this feat for the eighth time.
