ICC ODI World Cup: David Warner breaks Sachin Tendulkar's world record

Even though five-time world champion Australia had to face defeat against India in its first match of the ICC ODI World Cup, the team's opening batsman David Warner registered a record in his name in the match.

He made the record of scoring the fastest 1000 runs in the World Cup during his innings of 41 runs in the match. He broke the joint record of Sachin Tendulkar and AB de Villiers in this matter. David Warner completed 1000 runs in the 19th innings. Whereas Sachin Tendulkar and AB de Villiers had achieved this feat in 20-20 innings.

Whereas former West Indies legends Vivian Richards and Ganguly had scored one thousand runs in 21-21 innings. Mark Waugh and Herschelle Gibbs had completed their one thousand runs in 22-22 innings. It is noteworthy that India defeated Australia by six wickets in its first match of the World Cup.
