In the Multan Test match, England's batsmen have exhausted the Pakistani bowlers. On the fourth day of the match, after England's star batsman Joe Root's double century, the team's dashing batsman Harry Brook also showed his prowess by scoring a double century. This is his first double century not only in Tests but in his entire career. He had never scored a double century before this, neither in domestic nor in international cricket. After Root, Brook's double century has put the Pakistani team in trouble.

In the Multan Test, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first. On the basis of centuries by Shan Masood, Abdullah Shafiq, and Agha Salman, the team put 556 runs on the board. England's batsmen gave a befitting reply to this. After half-centuries by Jack Crowley and Ben Duckett, Joe Root and Harry Brook scored double centuries.

This is the first time in 39 years that England batsmen have scored more than one double-century in an innings. Till the lunch break, Root is still at the crease with 259 runs and Brook with 218 runs. Before this, in 1985, Mike Gatting and Graeme Fowler had scored double centuries in the same innings against India.

Root-Brook set partnership record.

Joe Root and Harry Brook made another record in Multan with their double century. In the Multan Test, both of them together made a partnership of 360 runs and made the record of the highest run partnership for England. Earlier in the year 2020, Jos Buttler and Jack Crowley together made a partnership of 359 runs. In 2010, there was a partnership of 332 runs between Jonathan Trott and Stuart Broad. Thanks to this partnership of both, the England team scored 658 runs for the loss of 3 wickets till the lunch break on the fourth day. The team now has a lead of 102 runs.

Excellent record against Pakistan

Harry Brook has an excellent record against Pakistan. He has played 6 matches against Pakistan, in which he has scored 614 runs at an average of 101. This includes 1 double century and 3 centuries. On the other hand, Brook's test average against Australia is just 9, and against India, it is 28.
