New Delhi. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) off-spinner Harbhajan Singh hinted that his playing days are coming to an end. Bhajji wants to coach the Indian team or IPL team after retirement. Harbhajan, 41, is the third oldest player in this season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) after Imran Tahir and Chris Gayle. Harbhajan is one of the most successful bowlers in IPL history. In this league, he has taken 150 wickets in 163 matches and his economy rate was also 7.07, which is economical in terms of T20.

Harbhajan has won the IPL title thrice with Mumbai Indians in 2013, 2015, and 2017. Apart from this, Bhajji was an important member of the Chennai Super Kings team, which became the IPL champion in the year 2018. During KKR's last league match against Rajasthan Royals, Harbhajan hinted at retirement. Harbhajan said, "I didn't get to play a lot of games and I don't play a lot of domestic cricket, so I don't know whether I will play from here or not. But I enjoyed being here with KKR and helping the youngsters."

When asked about Harbhajan's desire to coach, he said, "Cricket has been the biggest thing I have ever done and I would like to continue serving Indian cricket or IPL. Be it coaching or mentoring or whatever I can do for the team. This off-spinner surprised many when he named his name in the IPL 2021 auction. KKR added Bhajji to the team for his base price of Rs 2 crore. In this season, Bhajji could play only three matches for KKR and did not get a single wicket.

Harbhajan had pulled out of IPL 2020 due to personal reasons, after which Chennai Super Kings released him from the team. Harbhajan has not yet officially announced his retirement but he has not played any match for Team India since 2016. These days Bhajji is trying his luck on the big screen. Recently his film 'Friendship' has been released.
