In the 40th over of the match, Maxwell scored a century in just 40 balls and broke the record for the fastest century in ICC World Cup history, which was previously held by AB de Villiers.

Maxwell scored 106 runs in 44 balls, which included 9 fours and 8 sixes. He not only broke many records but also joined a select group of record holders. Before this feat, only two other batsmen had achieved such a record in international cricket, namely India's Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. Maxwell now has the distinction of scoring centuries in all formats of international cricket played in India.

With this feat, his name joins Rohit and Gill as the third player to achieve this remarkable feat.
