After the crushing defeat of Team India in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, the Board of Control for Cricket in India is making big and tough decisions one after the other. BCCI has made many new rules for the players. Now another change has taken place in Team India. Before a big tournament like the Champions Trophy, BCCI has agreed with head coach Gautam Gambhir and appointed Sitashu Kotak as the new batting coach in Team India. The T20 series between India and England is starting from January 22 and before that Sitashu will join Team India in Kolkata. The first T20 between India and England is to be played in Kolkata itself.

Let us tell you that Abhishek Nair has been handling the responsibility of Team India's batting coach, while he is the assistant coach. Former Netherlands cricketer Ryan Ten Doeschate is the assistant coach of Team India. Both have worked with Gambhir for the KKR team in the IPL. Even then both were Gambhir's assistant coaches. Gambhir is said to have good relations with both. When Gambhir became the coach of Team India, he himself had asked for both of them to be made his assistant coaches. But now it seems that Gambhir has lost faith in his own teammates. Team India's batting performance has not been special in the last few months while both of them are there. That's why he has now brought in a new person.

According to media reports, Gambhir had demanded a batting coach during the review meeting held in Mumbai. On his request, BCCI has appointed Sitashu Kotak as the batting coach. A senior BCCI official said about this, 'During the review meeting, head coach Gautam Gambhir had demanded a batting coach. Discussions have been going on since then. And now Sitashu Kotak will be included in the support staff.'

Team India will reach Kolkata on January 18 to play the first match of the five-match T20 series against England. England may also reach India on Friday. The match will be played at Eden Gardens on January 22. Here Kotak will join the Indian team as a batting coach in a 3-day camp.
