This match will start on Saturday. In the absence of Gautam Gambhir, the support staff of the Indian team like assistant coach Abhishek Nair, bowling coach Morne Morkel, and fielding coach T. Dilip will keep an eye on the training sessions.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma also did not reach Australia with the team due to personal reasons. Due to this, he was not available for the first test.
