Currently, the Pakistan team is on a tour of New Zealand, where they are playing a five-match T20 series between the two teams. Today (January 17) the third T20 match will be played in Dunedin. In this match, New Zealand player Finn Allen helped in giving a huge defeat to the Pakistani team.

Finn Allen hit 16 fast sixes in the match, making him a world record for hitting the most sixes in a match. Earlier, Afghanistan player Hazratullah Zazai had hit 16 sixes against Ireland in 2019, which in a way was a world record, but Finn Allen equaled it.

Finn Allen is New Zealand's opening batsman and today he played an inning of 137 runs, in which he faced 62 balls and hit 16 sixes. His strike rate was 220.96. As a result, New Zealand scored 224 runs in the allotted 20 overs.

In response, the Pakistani team scored only 179 runs and thus they lost the match by 45 runs. New Zealand is now leading 3-0 in this series. The remaining matches will be played on 19 and 21 January.

In Finn Allen's cricket career, he has so far scored 582 runs in 22 ODI matches with a strike rate of 93.26 and an average of 27.71 and has scored 1025 runs in 38 T20 International matches, in which he has an average of 26.97 and a strike rate of 165.05.

Finn Allen has also played in the IPL with Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore, but he has not played any matches this season. He was bought by RCB for Rs 80 lakh in IPL 2022, but no team bought him this season.

Finn Allen has now joined the players who have hit the most number of sixes in a match, having achieved the world record by hitting 16 sixes in a single match. Earlier, Afghanistan's Hazratullah Zazai had hit 16 sixes against Ireland in 2019, which was the record for most sixes in a specific match, but it was equalled by Finn Allen.
