Indian cricket legend MS Dhoni, who led Chennai Super Kings to their fifth IPL title in 2023, has shared an important update on his knee injury and his anticipated return to the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024. Dhoni's persistent knee problem has limited his batting contribution during the IPL 2023 season and after the title win, he underwent knee surgery and is now giving updates about his recovery progress.

During an event in Bengaluru on October 26, the 42-year-old former captain revealed that his knee surgery has been successful, and he is making steady progress without any complications. Medical professionals have assured him that he will feel much better by November. Dhoni is currently engaged in the rehabilitation process to regain his fitness.

Dhoni commented, "Knee has survived the operation, going through the rehab phase. The doctor told me you will feel much better by November. But there is no problem in the day-to-day routine."

Apart from discussing his physical condition, Dhoni also stressed that his goal was never focused on being remembered as a remarkable cricketer. Instead, he continually emphasized the importance of leaving a lasting legacy as a good human being. He said, "You know, right from the beginning, I was not into people remembering me as a good cricketer. I want to be remembered as a good human being. You know, and If you want to be a good person, it's a process until you die."

Dhoni had earlier announced his intention to return to the IPL in 2024, ending speculation about his future after leading CSK to their fifth IPL championship. He expressed his gratitude towards the CSK fans and the love he received from them, which gave him special motivation to continue playing.
