Due to this a stampede-like situation arose and the police had to work hard to manage the security arrangements. According to media reports, the police had to resort to lathi charges as well as water cannon to stop the huge crowd.

According to reports, about 10 people are reported to have fainted in this stampede and 15 people are said to be injured. However, it is not yet officially known how many people have been injured. Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has also not given any update on this incident yet. On the other hand, people who came to buy tickets have alleged that such a situation has arisen due to the negligence of the administration. People were queuing for tickets since Tuesday night and then the situation went out of control on Wednesday morning. Let us tell you, the spectator capacity of Barabaati Stadium is 44,574. Out of this, 24,692 tickets have been made available for sale.

International match in Cuttack after 3 years
