Team India has strengthened its hold in the first match of the Test series against Bangladesh. Team India has dominated the match being played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Like the first day, Indian players have dominated Bangladesh on the second day as well. The Indian batsmen were amazing on the first day of the match. On the other hand, lethal bowling was seen under the leadership of Jasprit Bumrah on the second day. Due to which Bangladesh's first innings was settled cheaply.

Bangladesh batting collapsed in front of Bumrah

Team India scored 376 runs in the first innings of the match. But Bangladesh team was all out after scoring 149 runs. Jaspreet Bumrah was the most successful bowler of India in this innings. He took the wicket of 4 batsmen and destroyed Bangladesh batting. Apart from Bumrah, excellent bowling was also seen from Mohammad Siraj and Akash Deep.

Mohammad Siraj and Akash Deep took 2-2 wickets each. Ravindra Jadeja also got two wickets. But R Ashwin, who scored a century in the first innings, remained empty-handed. It is very rare to see Ashwin not taking wickets in a domestic match. He bowled a total of 13 overs in this innings, out of which 4 overs were maiden, but he did not get any wicket.

Team India got a lead of 227 runs

After the first innings ended, Team India has got a big lead. On the second day of the game, Team India had taken its innings forward by 339 runs, but it lost its remaining 4 wickets in reaching 376 runs. In such a situation, Bangladesh had a good chance to make a comeback, but it could not do so, due to which the Indian team has now got a lead of 227 runs.

Bangladesh batsmen were a complete flop in this innings. Except Shakib Al Hasan, no batsman could touch the 30-run mark. Whereas, 5 batsmen could not even cross the double-digit mark. Shakib Al Hasan scored the highest 32 runs for the team and Mehdi Hasan remained unbeaten after scoring 27 runs. Liton Das could also contribute only 22 runs. Nazmul Hussain Shanto also played an innings of just 20 runs.
