Today Kapil Dev is celebrating his 65th birthday. Kapil Dev's contribution to Indian cricket is unparalleled, especially as the captain who led India to its first World Cup win in 1983.

He was born in January 1959 in Chandigarh, Punjab, India. He was the captain of the Indian cricket team that won the Cricket World Cup for the first time in 1983.

Kapil was named the Indian Cricketer of the Century in 2002 and is considered one of the most prominent players of all time. He coached the Indian national cricket team from 1999–2000.

'Haryana Hurricane' also has a stake in Dev Mosco Lighting Pvt Ltd which installs flood lights in stadiums across India. PCA Stadium in Mohali, Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai and Barabati Stadium in Cuttack are some of the stadiums that have benefited from his investment.
