Team India has taken a 3-1 lead in the Test series against England. After India's strong performance, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made an important announcement regarding the central contracts of players this year, which includes some big decisions. On Wednesday, February 28, the board announced the annual contracts, with the most notable news being the additions of Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan. Despite both players speaking several times about not playing in the Ranji Trophy, they were punished and did not get new contracts.

Young and consistently performing batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has got the contract for the first time.

In international cricket, players representing Team India are given a 12-month contract every year, in which they are provided a fixed amount of salary, regardless of whether they play international cricket during that year or not. The BCCI classifies them into four grades: A+, A, B and C. The A+ grade is the highest, in which players get a salary of Rs 7 crore per year. Players get a salary of Rs 5 crore in A grade, Rs 3 crore in B grade and Rs 1 crore in C grade.

A+ Grade:

There is no change in this grade and four players in this category are Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja.

A Grade:

There are now six players in this grade, including KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj and Shubman Gill, who have been promoted. Players in A grade are Ravichandran Ashwin, Shubman Gill, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya.

B Grade:

Five players have been included in this grade, with Yashasvi Jaiswal as the new entry. Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel have been demoted to this grade. In B grade, there are Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

C Grade:

Fifteen players have been included in this category, excluding last year's notable players like Umesh Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer. The new entries include Rinku Singh, Tilak Verma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shardul Thakur, Shivam Dubey, Ravi Bishnoi, Jitesh Sharma, Washington Sundar, Mukesh Kumar, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh, KS Bharat, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan and Rajat Patidar.

Fast Bowling Contract:

Apart from this, BCCI has given special contracts to five fast bowlers to further improve them. Although exact salary details have not been revealed yet, these bowlers include Umran Malik, Akash Deep, Vijay Kumar Wakhare, Vidwat Kawerappa and Yash Dayal.

Strict instructions from BCCI:

Apart from the contract, BCCI has once again given a clear message to all the players that those who are not playing for Team India at the time of the announcement of the central contract must play domestic cricket. The BCCI has reiterated this directive several times in recent times, resulting in Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer being dropped from the central contracts as both players did not participate in the recent Ranji Trophy.
