Jasprit Bumrah is in great form these days. He has wreaked havoc on the Australian players with his bowling in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Bumrah has taken 21 wickets in 6 innings so far. He is the highest wicket-taker of this series. Seeing his deadly bowling, even the Australian legends are not tired of praising him. Now the name of former Australian cricketer and coach Justin Langer has also been included in this list. Before the start of the Boxing Day Test on December 26, he compared Bumrah to Wasim Akram and called him the best bowler in the world at present.

'Right-handed Wasim Akram'

Jasprit Bumrah has given sleepless nights to Australian batsmen in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He has been a nightmare for the top batsmen in particular. Openers Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney have fallen prey to him 4 times each. Bumrah has dismissed Marnus Labuschagne 3 times. Seeing his dangerous bowling, former Australian player and coach Justin Langer called him the right-handed Wasim Akram. Langer said on The Nightly Podcast that 'Every time I am asked about the best bowler I have faced, I name Wasim Akram. For me, he is the right-handed Wasim Akram. I would never like to face him.'

'It's a nightmare to face'

Langer listed the strengths of both the bowlers. He said, 'They have good pace and like great bowlers, they bowl in the same spot. They have a good bouncer. They also have the ability to swing the ball on both sides. Apart from this, their seam is absolutely perfect. If you are adept at doing all these things, then you become a double-edged sword. That is why facing them is like a nightmare.'

According to Langer, if Bumrah does not get injured, it will be very difficult for Australia to win the series. Justin Langer expressed surprise over Ashwin's retirement after the Gabba Test. Langer was thinking that the Indian team would use Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin in Melbourne and Sydney, because both these venues suit India. But this did not happen.
