The cricket stadium of Greater Noida is in the news. For the last few days, there has been talk about this stadium because, in the only test match between Afghanistan and New Zealand, every day's play is getting canceled one after the other. The first 3 days of the test match have been canceled so far. The first 2 days of play could not be held due to wet ground and on the third day, rain ruined the chances of the match. It is not that efforts were not made to conduct the test match. When the rain stopped for the first two days, the groundsmen tried every possible way, tried every method so that the game could be held. But, all their methods and tricks to dry the ground went in vain. In such a situation, the question is why is the ground of Greater Noida Cricket Stadium not drying?

First of all, know what the groundsmen did to dry the ground? First, they tried to dry the wet areas of the ground with a fan. When that did not work, they even dug up the ground. They dug up the part of the ground that was wet. They did this so that they could bring a dry surface from some other place and lay it there. The groundsmen even brought a dry surface from the net practice area and laid it on the midfield. But, the conditions did not improve enough to conduct the game.

Now know why the ground of Greater Noida Cricket Stadium is not drying up? Actually, the surface of the outfield of the ground is not sandy, due to which water stays there for a long time. This is one reason for the ground being wet. Another reason is the lack of a cover big enough to cover the entire ground. Apart from this, the lack of an extra super sopper, which is used to dry the ground, is also a big reason for the wet ground in Greater Noida.

Meanwhile, ACB got all the support it could from BCCI. BCCI provided curators from Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium, who went to Greater Noida and helped prepare the ground. But, it doesn't seem that this has yielded any significant benefit.
